The Douglas Research Centre (DRC) in cooperation with the Montreal West Island Integrated University Health and Social Services Centre (MWI-IUHSSC) is seeking a specialist in data science to facilitate the secondary use of clinical data for research purposes.

With over 65 researchers spanning a full range of mental health research (neuroscience, clinical, services, policy and epidemiology/population health), the DRC has been an international leader in mental health research for more than 30 years. Integrated within the Douglas Institute, a psychiatric hospital, and the much larger MWI-IUHSSC, the Douglas Research Centre also offers significant opportunities for carrying out research in collaboration with a wide range of nearby mental health services. The Douglas Research Centre is located in the Montreal borough of Verdun, a lively up-and-coming neighbourhood located adjacent to the St. Lawrence River.

This position is part of the “Digital mental health” initiative, a core strategic goal for the MWI-IUHSSC. You will have the opportunity to actively shape the development of cutting edge research in mental health, while helping further processes for ensuring data protection and privacy. Implementing these methods and techniques is a priority for the Quebec Ministry of Health and Social Services, as they will directly lead to the improvement of care and services to patients.

In a co-management model, under the joint authority of the Deputy Scientific Director of the Douglas Research Center and the Head of the Performance and Statistics Department, in the Department of Multidisciplinary Services, Quality, Performance and Population Responsibility at the MWI-IUHSSC.

**Description of tasks**:

- Evaluate the data needs of researchers to serve as an interface with the Performance and Statistics service of the MWI-IUHSSC - which implies an understanding of their respective mode of operation;
- Play a proactive role in increasing and maintaining collaborations and partnerships likely to promote the development of new research projects;
- Promote support for researchers and the knowledge translation on available data through various activities: identification of new relevant data; production of summaries, reports or data repositories; development of training or monitoring bulletins.

**Qualifications and Skills Required**:

- Hold a relevant undergraduate university degree (administration, information technology, economics, social sciences or another appropriate academic discipline);
- Superior capacity for analysis, communication, popularization, synthesis and problem solving;
- Experience in the field of business intelligence, an asset;
- Mastery of one or more data processing tools (Excel, SPSS, SQL, Report Builder, SAS, etc.)
- Demonstrates good working knowledge in the environments of Microsoft's business intelligence product line (SSIS, SSAS, SSRS and DBMS) and in relational databases, an asset;
- Knowledge of the health network and clinical information databases, an asset;
- Ability to work in English and French, orally and in writing.

**Salary**:
Depending on experience, between 49’000$ and 87’000$ per year
