**Role Overview**:
We're looking for someone who is passionate about social justice and has strong organisational, interpersonal, and communication skills to serve as the Springboard Social Justice Fellow at Queen's Hillel in Kingston, ON. The Springboard Social Justice Fellow will work within a team of other programming staff both collaboratively and independently. You should be passionate about building relationships, getting out on campus and reaching new and uninvolved Jewish students, and empowering them to make a difference in their community. You are someone who has a passion for building community through your dynamic personality, warmth, sincerity, sense of humour, and fun-loving attitude.

**What you're great at**:

- Connecting with students in one-on-one conversations to help them engage with social justice issues on campus
- Putting yourself in new places and situations to engage a wide variety of students, for example, meeting students where they are at (on campus, in residence).
- Creating, implementing and supporting a diverse range of student programs and initiatives related to social justice for Jewish students.
- Understanding the needs of university students and having a desire to interact with the diversity of students and constituents involved with the local Hillel
- Making social justice accessible and relevant to others through your authentic story and experiences.
- Articulating the importance of social justice from a Jewish perspective.

**The right Springboard Social Justice Fellow will possess the following key attributes**:

- Engaging - The Springboard Social Justice Fellow must be an outgoing person who is interested in meeting with students one on one.
- Creative - The Springboard Social Justice Fellow must be a creative thinker to best address the needs of the students. You're a risk taker who thrives on solving problems with an entrepreneurial spirit and not being afraid of trying something new.
- Organised - The Springboard Social Justice Fellow needs to be organised and understand the big picture of the organisation and how best to implement initiatives that best serve the campus Hillel.
- Strategic Relationship Builder
- The Springboard Social Justice Fellow will work closely with the Director to implement a campus engagement strategy to connect with more Jewish students interested in social justice.

**What you'll bring to the job**:

- A Bachelor's degree and 0-2 years' professional work experience in a related field
- You'll have a team-oriented approach to work, a strong work ethic, proven experience thinking and acting strategically to reach goals, a sense of humour, an ability to take risks and learn from situations when things don't turn out the way you thought they would.
- Exceptional organisation, leadership and communication skills
- A strong proficiency and interest in social media
- A proven track record engaging with social action or social justice work in the past

**What you'll get out of it**:

- A first year salary of $44,000 and a raise to $46,500 in the second year of the contract
