We are looking to hire a casual/part time employee for our growing programs

We are located in the heart of Parksville and only one block from the beach and community park.

West Oaks has three programs..

Multi Age (18months-5years): 7:45am-5:00pm Maximum 8 children with 2 teachers

Pre Kindergarten (3-5years): 8:30am-2:30pm Maximum 8 children with 2 teachers

After School Care (K-grade 6) : 3:00pm-5:00pm Maximum 12 children with up to 2 teachers

Pro D, Spring + Summer Camps (K-grade 6): 8:30am-5:00pm Max 12 children with up to 2 teachers

Smaller class sizes positively impacts teacher to child relationships and builds a healthier sense of belonging and community. Children who feel connected to their teachers and peers are more likely to be happy, healthy and successful in each aspect of their lives.

Applicant must be able and willing to
- Develop and implement child-care programs that support and promote the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children
- provide opportunities to express creativity through the media of art, dramatic play, music, and physical activity
- Plan and maintain an environment that protects the health, security, and well-being of children
- Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with co-workers and community service providers working with children
- Collaborate with co-workers with daily/weekly/monthly programming for indoor/outdoor activities
- Have excellent communication skills for parent-to-teacher conversations

Wage: $21-$23 per hour and depends on qualification level. Plus an extra $6 per hour if you hold your ECE license.

West Oaks is closed for one week at the end of summer, two weeks for Winter Break and 4 flex days throughout the year for staff development, team building and/or cleaning.

**Salary**: $21.00-$23.00 per hour
