**RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES**:
Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

- working in slaughter establishments performing ante-mortem and post-mortem inspection of animals
- export inspections of animals
- providing consultation services to inspection staff, stakeholders and other government organizations
- training of inspection personnel and new veterinarians
- compiling and maintaining reports for management
- ensuring compliance with regulations
- ensuring humane transport of animals in accordance with international standards and regulations

**QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS**:
**Education**:

- Graduation from a veterinary school accredited or approved by the Canadian Veterinary Medical Association (CVMA); **OR** Graduation from another veterinary school and holding a Certificate of Qualification (Parts A, B & C) granted by the National Examining Board of the CVMA.

Occupational Certification:

- Eligibility for membership in a Canadian veterinary association defined as: Current members of a Canadian veterinary association with a license recognized by the CVMA; **AND** Non-members of Canadian veterinary associations holding a Certificate of Qualification granted by the National Examining Board of the CVMA.

Asset Experience:

- AE1: Experience in the meat industry or in a large animal practice.
- AE2: Experience in regulatory veterinary medicine.

**RESPONSABILITÉS ET TÂCHES**:
Les responsabilités peuvent inclure, mais ne sont pas limitées à:

- travail dans les abattoirs pour effectuer l'inspection ante-mortem et post-mortem des animaux
- l'inspection des animaux à l'exportation
- fournir des services de consultation au personnel d'inspection, aux parties prenantes et aux autres organisations gouvernementales
- la formation du personnel d'inspection et des nouveaux vétérinaires
- compiler et tenir à jour les rapports destinés à la direction
- veiller au respect de la réglementation
- assurer le transport sans cruauté des animaux, conformément aux normes et réglementations internationales.

**QUALIFICATIONS ET CAPACITÉS**:
Études:

- Diplôme d'une école de médecine vétérinaire accréditée ou approuvée par l'Association canadienne des médecins vétérinaires (ACMV) ; OU Diplôme d'une autre école de médecine vétérinaire et certificat de qualification (parties A, B
