**Medical Information Specialist** (contract one year)

An exciting opportunity has become available for a full time Medical Information Specialist to join our successful and high-performing Medical Affairs Department as part of the Medical Information team.

**The job**

The Medical Information Specialist support the needs of Novo Nordisk Canada Inc. by providing Medical Information services externally (to healthcare professionals and patients) and internally (to medical, marketing, patient access, and sales departments) across the Novo Nordisk portfolio of products and therapeutic areas.

**Key areas of responsibilities**
- Manages activities and customer communications efforts of Medical Information and is one of the prime contacts for Medical Information activities.
- Provides medical support on Novo Nordisk Canada Inc. products through (1) verbal and written responses to inquiries from healthcare professionals, patients, medical liaisons, and sales representatives, (2) current literature on products and therapeutic areas, (3) best information on product use including the adverse event profile, (4) information on new studies including off-label uses, and (5) medical slides on selected fully published or presented Novo Nordisk studies in compliance to all internal and external regulations.
- Documents drug information requests from health care professionals, patients and other external and internal stakeholders in MIDAS
- Assists in the development, review or updates Medical Information documents including standard letters, FAQs and other medical document and ensures their creation and approval are in line with relevant SOPs and external regulations.
- Reviews and assists in the updates of new procedures and SOPs to improve efficiency, work flow, and quality of implementation.
- Ensures Drug Information function is prepared for product launches and labeling expansions.
- Assists with the development of performance standards, Medical Information objectives, and assessment of resource and training needs for Medical Information services.
- Ensures utilization of technologies (e.g., MIDAS) to improve the flow of information and reduce administrative tasks.
- Assists with the maintenance and reports of MIDAS as needed
- Serves as an in-house resource for product information and Medical Information expertise.
- Remains current with changes in regulatory requirements, clinical practice procedures, and with publications on NNCI and competitor products.
- Performs other tasks as assigned by management

**Qualifications**
- RN/NP/PharmD/Pharmacist/MD/PhD with relevant experience
- Minimum 3+ years of relevant experience in the medical/pharmaceutical industry
- Demonstrated understanding of evidence-based medicine
- Clinical practice experience involving direct patient care
- Demonstrated excellence in medical writing, editing, and presenting to others
- Able to manage multiple projects with tight deadlines simultaneously
- Bilingual (French/English) is preferred
