The role of the psychologist is to plan, conduct, and provide expertise and guidance related to psychological services, including evidence-based and personalized assessment, treatment, and consultation consistent with the values of Central Counselling & Assessment Services. The psychologist plans, coordinates and provides program evaluation activities, while practicing within the scope of declared competencies registered with the Newfoundland and Labrador Psychology Board.
Working as a member of the team, the psychologist will provide psychological assessment, consultation, diagnosis, monitoring and treatment of clients utilizing both individual evidence-based and personalized interventions. Program development and evaluation will also be part of this role.
**RESPONSIBILITIES**:
- Plans, conducts and monitors evidence-based and personalized psychological treatments with individuals.
- Uses measures to assess outcomes
- Plans, administers, and documents psychological assessments for patients.
- Provides personalized assessment, treatment planning, and evaluation of outcomes for patients. Assists with program development and evaluation as required.
- Engages in professional development and continuing education.
**QUALIFICATIONS**:
- Registered, or eligible for registration, through the Newfoundland and Labrador Psychology Board.
- Masters or Ph.D. in Psychology _from_ an APA or CPA accredited graduate program (or equivalent).
- Minimum of two years clinical experience.
- Knowledge of Concurrent Disorders and evidence based treatments preferred
- Demonstrated compliance with the ethical and professional practice standards of Newfoundland and Labrador Psychology Board and the Canadian Psychological Association.
- Demonstrated skills and experience in treatment and assessment in mental health conditions
- Demonstrated skills and experience in assessment and diagnosis of learning disabilities, behaviour disorders, with treatment planning
- Demonstrated skills with a wide range of evidence based interventions, including but not limited to CBT, prolonged exposure, CPT, EMDR, DBT, mindfulness, biofeedback.
- Demonstrated ability to _work_ effectively as a member of a team, to collaborate with community resources and services, and to advocate for the needs of clients
- Demonstrated interpersonal skills, self-motivated and directed to fulfill responsibilities of role
- Advanced oral and written communication skills required for assessment and treatment reports as well as communication of treatment outcomes.
