Shop Foreman

Fortran Steel Contracting is currently looking to hire Shop Foreman to join our team

We are a Structural Steel and Miscellaneous Metals fabricator with an expertise in industrial, commercial, institutional, and residential projects.

Our ideal Shop Foreman will lead, assist and perform the duties of all shop staff and provides information and direction to them. They are responsible for the accomplishment of work performed by the assigned personnel under the direction and authority of supervisor. Unloads, receives, transports, and stores materials and supplies for steel fabrication shop. Disperses materials as required. Completes requisitions, purchase orders (ordering of materials), bill of ladings, and shipping documents. Performs inventory duties and maintains organization of the storage and its contents. Also has a knowledge of all equipment and general repairs and fixes.

Responsibilities (but no limited to):

- Prioritize work and balance a workload of multiple projects
- Delegating general and daily responsibilities to shop employees
- Quality Control (checking fits/finishes/layout of fitters and welders, ensuring required parts are present and properly fitted and aligned)
- Occasionally order materials/shop supplies
- Shop Maintenance (including equipment and inventory)
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment
- Coordinate, schedule shipping /receiving deliveries
- Be a member of the Health & Safety Committee
- Working with HR/Payroll with confirming hours, hiring, policies

Qualifications:

- Minimum 3-5 years experience in a Structural steel and Miscellaneous Welding
- Experience with operating CNC machine and Plasma cutter
- Ability to read and understand blueprints and assembly drawings
- An understanding of quantitative take off

Schedule:

- Monday to Thursday 730am to 5pm Friday 730am to 4pm
- Experience will reflect the salary amount and will be discussed at time of interview

Compensation:

- Competitive wages that include RRSP Match Program and Benefits.

**Salary**: $30.00-$35.00 per hour
