Provides a variety of casework duties, including analysis of data, progress reports, statistical recordings, formulation of treatment plans and implementation of the treatment, consistent with program policies

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Is able to work in adherence to The Salvation Army’s Christian Mission and Values.
- Awareness and compliance with CHILLIWACK Policies and Procedures.
- Awareness of The Salvation Army Communicable Disease Control Manual
- Participate in ongoing training as provided
- Supports, advocates for and refers clients/families in helping empower them to become more self-sufficient, and help them re-integrate into the greater community
- Involved in intake services, client assessment, emergency assistance, ongoing case management and/or other forms of direct service for clients applicable to their case plan and development
- Through crisis and ongoing empathy, provides supportive counseling, assist individuals in determining appropriate and mutually agreed upon goal achievement processes
- In collaboration with the Shelter Director, facilitate effective problem-solving strategy to address behaviours of the client/family that impacts the completion of the client’s case plan
- Provides a variety of casework duties, including analysis of data, progress reports, statistical recordings, formulation of treatment plans and implementation of the treatment, consistent with program policies
- Maintains confidentiality and keeps accurate client files/case notes
- Networks with other agencies to resources services for the benefit of clients and programs
- Participates in case conference meetings for the benefit of clients served; participates in crisis intervention situations, provides guidance and advocacy for as required
- Provides written reports as requested by management
- Maintains accurate reporting and documentation of BC housing database
- Develop and maintain a database list of all agencies and services we collaborate with to help our clients
- May be required to support shelter staff at the direction of management
- Networks with the Salvation Army, government and community social service providers to coordinate resources for the benefit of clients
- Performs other duties as assigned.

The employee should expect a work environment that will encounter the needs and effects of a transient/homeless/substance-addicted populous.

The incumbent must take the following precautionary measures (in addition to health and safety rules):

- Universal precautions
- Current Certification in first Aid/CPR
- Criminal Police Investigation Check (CPIC)
- Non-violent crisis intervention training.

**QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS**:

- Proven experience in case management and social services
- Any special credentials specific to the program
- Team oriented
- Good interpersonal, initiative and organizational skills
- Adaptable to change and frequent interruptions
- Functional job related computer skills
- Valid driver’s license
- Police Security Clearance Certificate
- Current Certificate in First Aid and CPR Training
- Non-violent Crises Intervention Training
- Awareness of Communicable Diseases Control
- Ability to relate to and engage marginalized people with a positive outcome perspective while remaining non-judgmental.

The incumbent must take the following precautionary measures in addition to health and safety rules:

- Universal precautions.
- Immunization for Hepatitis B.
- Background check consent
- A clear vulnerable sector screening
- A clean drivers abstract
- Completion of our online Armatus Abuse Training and required Health and Safety training.

**HOURS**:
Monday to Friday - 8.0 hours per day.
