Caretaker - Part Time

The Caretaker is responsible for the efficient delivery of general caretaking services and minor maintenance services for assigned housing projects.

**Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities**:

- Knowledge of basic equipment maintenance/repair and painting
- Ability to work with very limited supervision
- A congenial personality who enjoys working with and for the elderly and low-income families and individuals
- Good communication skills
- Good organization skills
- Patience, time management skills, and the ability to work independently
- Ability to maintain a harmonious relationship with staff and public
- Must be physically fit and be able to bend, lift and climb
- Must be physically able to operate maintenance equipment
- Ability to carry out responsibilities listed in the Caretaker job description

**Minimum Qualifications**:

- Completion of High School Diploma or equivalent
- Three years of grounds/maintenance experience
- Valid driver’s license and driver abstract
- WHMIS, First Aid, and CPR certification preferred
- Criminal Record Check
- A genuine interest and empathy for the care of senior citizens and low-income families

**Initial Location of Work**:Sunshine Plaza (May be required to work at other sites)**Initial Hours of Work**:Minimum 12 hours per Pay Period (Hours will vary) May be required to work other shifts.

**Pay Range & Benefits**:$24.48 to $28.78 per hour
