The Canada-Nova Scotia Offshore Petroleum Board (CNSOPB) is located in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, and is the independent joint agency of the Governments of Canada and Nova Scotia responsible for the regulation of petroleum activities in the Canada-Nova Scotia Offshore Area. Governments have announced their intent to expand our mandate to include the regulation of offshore renewable energy development in the Canada-Nova Scotia Offshore Area.

The Advisor, Geophysics will be part of a subsurface geoscientific evaluation team that will prepare geoscience information packages that support CNSOPB call for bids processes for offshore petroleum and wind parcels, as well as undertake petroleum resource and shallow geohazard assessments. The incumbent will have in-depth expertise with respect to the interpretation of shallow
- to deep-penetrating reflection seismic datasets, including integration of datasets of varying quality and calibrating seismic data to available well data or core samples.
