A group of Rural Municipalities (R.M.) consisting of Baildon No. 131, Caron No. 162, Hillsborough No. 132, Marquis No. 191, Moose Jaw No. 161, Rodgers No. 133 and Terrell No. 101 are currently in the stages of finalizing a District Weed Management Agreement.

As part of the Agreement, the District is requiring the services of a Weed Inspector. The responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

- Enforcement of _The Weed Control Act_.
- Complete tours of the R.M.’s and utilize the _iMapsInvasives _program to input, track and monitor prohibited and noxious weeds; Access to a computer/tablet will also be required.
- Inspect private properties to investigate reports of noxious, prohibited or nuisance weeds.
- Work collectively with local landowners for the control and/or eradication of weeds, including the issuance of Agreements or Orders as required.
- Recommend the necessary actions with the municipality to ensure compliance by the landowner.
- Report findings and updates with R.M. Councils and District Weed Management Committee as required.

The Weed Inspector role is considered as seasonal and typically operates during May 1st and August 31st, with the opportunity for work into September.

Additional training will be provided by the SARM Plant Health Technical Advisor and an existing Weed Inspector from an adjacent municipality.
