Assists the Dietary Manager in the planning, development, organization, implementation and evaluation of the overall quality of resident care by the dietary department.
- Directs, assigns and evaluates the work of dietary servers.
- Ensures all staff is knowledgeable of and competent to act in the event of a fire, disaster and infectious disease.
- Ensures supplies and equipment are properly and efficiently utilized.
- Assists in the orientation of the resident, family and dietary staff.
- Uses standardized recipes. Serves meals on time at proper temperatures. Ensures residents receive proper diets.
- Ability to manage department in supervisor’s absence in areas such as staffing, equipment breakdown, supply ordering and receiving and menu changes.
- Completes incident/accident reports promptly and reports them to the Dietary Manager.
- Follows proper food handling techniques and sanitation procedures as outlined by facility policy and public health legislation.
- Assists Dietary Manager in maintaining departmental budget.
- Completes audits as required.

**Job Type**: Casual

**Salary**: $18.53-$21.00 per hour
