The Company is comprised of 6 locations in Ontario (Stratford, Barrie, Hastings, North Bay, Etobicoke and Perth) and one in Amherst Nova Scotia.
We have an exciting opportunity at our new _**Amherst Nova Scotia location**_ for a _**Warehouse Supervisor.**_ The Amherst Warehouse Supervisor shall direct and manage all Warehouse, logistics, administration and building activities in order to achieve specific goals and targets. Serve our customers to the highest standards so that Rideau Supply can increase brand equity and reputation. Invest time and money in our company personnel to ensure high retention rates, and attract qualified applicants. The Amherst B Supervisor will be responsible to plan warehouse layout and space requirements in order to prevent loss or damage, and to achieve full warehouse optimization. They will be responsible for the daily operations in the warehouse including supervision of warehouse employees, drivers and delivery routes. This is a multi-dimensional role which requires knowledge of MTO and MOL regulations. This position is responsible for warranties, receiving paperwork, and general administrative duties
**MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES**:
- Supervise a team of warehouse employees and drivers, including hiring, delegation, training, performance evaluation, disciplinary actions, and termination
- Coordinate activities by scheduling work assignments, setting priorities, and delegating work accordingly. Ensure scheduling for all areas meets business requirements, approve time away from work and weekly hours worked. Ensure that timesheets are completed and submitted correctly on a bi-weekly basis
- Ensure employees have clear goals and are aware of expectations
- Evaluate employee performance and provide feedback, coaching, and formal evaluations
- Plan warehouse layout and space requirements in order to prevent loss or damage, and to achieve full warehouse optimization, considering full implications of freight turnover, size, weight and other factors.
- Effective Inventory management, working with the Director of Procurement to ensure best practices are followed.
- Maintain appropriate and complete documentation regarding regulated products and hazardous materials
- Identify inefficient practices and make changes accordingly to ensure smooth work flow procedures that are effective and efficient. Analyze departmental operations and identify areas requiring improvement
- Ensure vehicle maintenance and overall safety of vehicles is up to date and meets MTO requirements including loading standards.
- Plan and organize all delivery routes to meet customer expectations and timelines, and in the most cost effective way.
- Ensure the branch meets or exceeds the service expectations of its customers. Handle customer questions. complaints and comments.
- Invoicing orders (verifying quantities, entering freight rates according to policy) and processing customer payments.
- Investigating billing and receiving errors, communication with vendors and customers to correct errors
- Issue return authorizations to customers with valid issues and processing credits to customers.
- Obtain return goods authorizations to process with suppliers/vendors and prepare for returning to vendors. Receive product, label and prepare to return to vendor. Follow-up for all credits and replacements.
- Receiving inventory, including verification and reconciliation (packing slips), as well as, entering of all transfers, and builds.
- Understanding of IFTA and IRP regulations, coordinating with Rideau’s logistics department.
**ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES**:
- Develop a working understanding of the company's customers through telephone calls, meetings and industry events.

- **Minimum Qualifications**:
- Degree or diploma in a related field
- Five to seven years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
**TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE**:
- Certified JHSC Member
- First Aid Certification
- Forklift Certification
- Working knowledge of MTO and MOL regulations and standards
- Valid Criminal Record Check

- Ability to multi-task and meet tight deadlines
- A well-defined sense of diplomacy, including solid negotiation, conflict resolution, and people management skills
- Motivate, inspire, provide and accept feedback to and from employees.
- The prioritization skills necessary to use time effectively and set action plans to achieve business targets.
- Ability to identify issues and implement creative and strategic solutions to overcome problems
