Electrical Estimator

**Position Overview**:
As an **Electrical Estimator**, you will play a key role in supporting our business development efforts by preparing accurate, competitive, and timely cost estimates for residential and commercial electrical projects. Your primary responsibility will be to evaluate project plans, specifications, and site conditions, and develop detailed cost estimates for labor, materials, and overhead. You will work closely with our master electricians, engineers, and clients to ensure that projects are properly quoted and meet the client's expectations.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- **Project Evaluation**: Review project plans, specifications, and drawings to understand the scope of work for both residential and commercial electrical installations and repairs.
- **Estimate Preparation**: Prepare detailed cost estimates for electrical projects, including labor, materials, and equipment costs. Ensure estimates are competitive, accurate, and aligned with company goals.
- **Site Visits**: Perform on-site assessments as needed to gather accurate measurements and determine project requirements.
- **Client Communication**: Collaborate with clients to understand their needs and provide guidance on electrical solutions. Maintain clear and professional communication throughout the estimation process.
- **Bid Management**: Assist in preparing and submitting bids, ensuring all necessary documentation is provided in a timely manner. Follow up with clients to answer any questions and address concerns related to the bid.
- **Collaboration**: Work closely with project managers, engineers, and procurement teams to ensure estimates align with project schedules and budget constraints.
- **Cost Control**: Track project costs and review estimated budgets during the execution phase to ensure financial goals are being met.
- **Industry Research**: Stay up to date with industry trends, pricing, and local regulations to ensure estimates remain competitive and compliant with all applicable codes and standards.
**Qualifications**:
- **Experience**: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in estimating electrical projects (residential, commercial, or industrial). Previous experience with electrical contracting companies preferred.
- **Knowledge**: Strong understanding of electrical systems, building codes, safety standards, and electrical materials.
- **Skills**: Proficient in estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- **Education**: High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field is a plus.
- **Certifications**: Valid electrical license or relevant certifications is preferred.
- **Communication**: Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to interact professionally with clients, vendors, and team members.
- **Attention to Detail**: Strong attention to detail and accuracy in preparing estimates and managing project documentation.
