Environmental Remediation Specialist

**Overview**:
**Mandatory Qualifications**:

- This position requires the education and training of an environmental scientist or engineer, preferable from the consulting or contracting industry
- A Bachelor’s degree in Science or Engineering or Applied Science with a minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience is essential
- Must have a thorough understanding of geology, hydrogeology, contaminant transport, and soil and groundwater remediation principles

**Responsibilities**:

- Review of environmental site investigation reports, data packages, and engineering plans to understand project requirements
- Design and costing of remediation programs
- Visit client offices and/or convene virtual meetings to understand project requirements and define scopes of work
- Communicate approaches via detailed write-ups, in-person meetings, and follow-up negotiations to secure project contracts
- Manage remediation projects, oversee/direct field staff and sub-contractors, manage scheduling, and manage day-to-day operations of the field work
- Process permits with various government agencies and ensure ongoing compliance with permit requirements
- Complete project budgeting, invoicing, and other project financial activities
- Participate in marketing and business development activities

**Other Qualifications & Requirements**:

- Membership in a Professional Association (P.Eng., P.Geo., C.E.T.) is an asset
- Ability to work within a Team environment (client, consultant, sub-contractors)
- Experience with invoicing, budgeting, and other areas of project financial management
- Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, Teams, and MS Dynamics 365
- Physically capable of visiting active sites and staying in hotels for extended periods of time (if needed)
- Valid G driver’s license

Pay: $70,000.00-$90,000.00 per year
