The Specialist acts as a first point of contact for managers, employees and retirees requesting assistance, consultation, information, and advice. The role is responsible for contributing to the ongoing optimization, development, implementation, execution and communication of changes to existing benefit and pension programs and services for all faculty and employee groups.

Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Human Resources or a related discipline, professional certification as a Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS) and Retirement Plans Associate (RPA) and four years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
- Excellent knowledge of pension benefit legislation and government retirement benefits and programs.
- Excellent knowledge of best practices related to pension and benefits administration.
- Intermediate analytical reasoning, conflict resolution and problem-solving skills.
- Intermediate interpersonal and communication skills.
- Intermediate client service skills.
- Ability to exhibit a high level of empathy, tact, diplomacy and discretion.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as a member of a team.
- Ability to perform calculations and record data with extremely high degree of accuracy.
- Ability to establish priorities and meet deadlines.
- Ability to work with large datasets with precise, critical attention to detail.
