**Experience and Education**

5+ years of civil construction estimating and management
Relevant education (technologist or B.Sc.) or equivalent experience (10+ years of civil field experience)
Registration or eligibility for registration as a C.E.T., P. Tech, or P. Eng is an asset.
Experience leading a team through the bid process for various civil projects

**Required Skills and Knowledge**
- Proficient with Microsoft Office
- Familiar with relevant building codes
- Ability to read construction drawings
- Hands-on experience on civil construction projects
- Ability to assemble accurate, timely, and well organized estimates
- Ability to work on multiple bids simultaneously

**Preferred Skills and Knowledge**
- Experience with linear transportation infrastructure
- Experience and knowledge in change management and project controls
- Proficient with Bluebeam Revu and Primavera P6
- Highly skilled with Excel
- Experience with material procurement
- Experience reviewing project contracts

**Job responsibilities**
- Reports to lead estimators
- Create project proposals including:

- _Reviewing project scope of work, drawings, specs, standards, and other documents_
- _Performing civil takeoff of drawings and bills of material_
- _Compiling material lists for procurement_
- _Creating project execution plans_
- _Determining project staff and equipment_
- _Creating project schedules_
- _Engaging vendors and subcontractors_
- _Coordinating proposal reviews with lead estimators_
- Estimate change orders for current projects
- Attend site visits
- Assist construction and engineering as needed
- Track time spent on estimates and fill out weekly timesheets
- Participate in estimating staff training and improvement

**Work Location**
- Regularly office-based at the Chemco head office - 3135 4th Street, Nisku, AB
- 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday to Friday, with 30-minute unpaid lunch

**Compensation and Benefits**
- Permanent full-time position
- Competitive hourly wage based on experience (range between $36/hr to $45/hr, plus 10% vacation/stat holiday pay)
- Company RRSP contribution after completion of 90-day probationary period (range between $2.00/hr to $4.00/hr)
