**Your role**

CBC P.E.I., Charlottetown (English Services) is looking for an energetic and forward thinking Associate Producer to take on a vital programming role. You perform editorial assignments related to the gathering, writing and presentation of program material for all of our media platforms. You participate in the production, direction and/or post-production of a program and/or program segment. You should be comfortable with the demands and needs of television, radio and online news production, including responding to the pressures of breaking news situations. You should have some experience in field production, and be comfortable chasing and developing enterprise journalism and original research. You should be able to generate story ideas independently. Guidance and direction are regularly available from one or more producers, but there is latitude for initiative and judgment. There may be opportunities to coordinate the work of others and close cooperation with the program unit is essential. Experience in booking interview guests, developing lines of questioning, writing focused introductions and preparing and writing tape segments.-
- capable of original and creative thought in the production of news for online, Radio, and TV with demonstrated writing skills.-
- Excellent communication skills and interpersonal skills: must be a team player.-
- Strong organizational skills; ability to handle a variety of functions quickly and efficiently.-
- Comfortable with the demands and needs of online, radio and television news production.-
- Must be able to solve problems independently and in-group discussions (openness to new ideas and approaches).-
- Experience with video, audio, online editing tools, Content Management Systems, and Social Media.-
