Reporting to the Director, FFE (Furniture, Fixtures and Equipment) & Interiors, the Project Specialist - Furniture will be an integral part of the project team assisting the team and user groups by coordinating project activities for Furniture coordination with design and procurement through all stages of the South Niagara Hospital project.
**GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Support the Project Team in achieving overall project goals;
- Support Director, FFE & Interiors in FFE project activities (selection, standardization, procurement);
- Collaborate with Project Specialist Equipment to ensure that furniture and equipment in rooms are coordinated;
- Attend, as assigned, all project related meetings with the Project Company (PCo), hospital user groups, vendors and project partners;
- Assist in development and sign-off for furniture specifications through user group meetings;
- Record meetings notes at FFE user group meetings;
- Prepare/distribute meeting material in advance meetings;
- Lead procurement for general equipment;
- Participate in and work with Procurement leads to coordinate RFPs, evaluations and vendor selections;
- Will provide technical furniture support for the South Niagara Project;
- Will have a broad understanding of development of furniture planning documents;
- Participate departmental meetings;
- Participate in design and construction meetings with Project Co;
- Coordinate with Operational Readiness to ensure furniture aligns with new workflows/practices;
- Support Procurement, Move, Commissioning and Training activities;
- Participate in and track deficiency reviews;
- Gather and organize all furniture and related manuals in central repository;
- Assist in developing furniture training materials in coordination with Operational Readiness for NH users;
- Participate in FFE decommissioning;
- Other duties as assigned
**QUALIFICIATIONS**:

- Diploma/Degree in Interior Design
- Minimum 4 years experience in Interior Design
- Hospital experience is preferred
- Hospital project experience is considered an asset
- Registered or working towards registration
- ARIDO and/or IDC membership preferred
- Understanding of Broader Public Sector Guidelines and best practices is as asset
- Demonstrated knowledge and skill in furniture planning
- Understanding of furniture planning in a clinical setting
- Working knowledge of furniture planning and design impacts
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and organizations skills
- Able to effectively manage multiple project activities simultaneously, meeting deadlines and managing change is essential
- Experience organizing/facilitating user group meetings
- Experience with negotiating and consensus building
- Excellent written and organizational skills
- Well versed in MS Project, SharePoint and Microsoft suite
- Demonstrated knowledge of AutoCAD and Revit
- Ability to maintain confidentiality at all times
- Must be able to work in a fast pace environment, prioritize activities and be detail oriented
- Flexible, self-directed, ability to work independently and as a team player
- Excellent work performance and attendance record is essential
- Proficiency in both official languages (English and French) will be considered an asset
