**Job Overview**
- Our primary program is a summer sailing camp that runs Monday to Friday in July and August. Over 8 weeks there will be 4 weeks of an introduction to sailing for ages 7 to 11 and 4 weeks of a learn to sail program for ages 10 to 16. It is very windy in Squamish so it's sailing in the morning and games and or kayaking in the afternoon.
- There will also be a drop in sailing one evening each week for youth who are keen and club members. This can be delegated to a Jr Instructor. We have a few Jr Instructors that have come up through our program and are 15 to 18 years old.
- We will also offer adult lessons one maybe two nights each week. It is not clear if this will be a task for the head instructor TBD.

**Responsibilities**
- On water and land-based instructions and evaluation of skills as outlined in the CANsail curriculum.
- Leadership and support of the instructional team to provide a safe, positive and inclusive learning environment.
- Ongoing effective communication with parents and participants.
- Working with and receiving support from the SYC learn to sail committee.
- Responsible operation and care of sailboats, coach boats, and the sail training area.
- Administrative duties and pay will be available for those with the ability to do so.

**Required Qualifications**
- Certified CANsail instructor qualifications.
- Membership in good standing with Sail Canada.
- Availability to work through the summer. Monday to Friday July and August.
