**Responsibilities**:
As a Funeral Director Class 1 licence, you will be responsible for guiding families through the funeral planning process, demonstrating empathy and sensitivity during their time of loss.
- **Duties will include**:_

Meet with families to discuss funeral arrangements and provide guidance and support during the grieving process.

Help families to select caskets, urns, and other funeral merchandise.

Coordinate and oversee all aspects of funeral services, including scheduling, staffing, and logistics.

Transfer/arrange for transfer of the deceased to the funeral home, cemetery or crematorium.

Coordinate with clergy, musicians, and other service providers to ensure a smooth and meaningful funeral service.

Prepare obituary notices and coordinate with local newspapers for publication.

Prepare the deceased for visitations, funerals, and/or memorial services with the utmost care and professionalism which includes the preparation and embalming of decedents, if necessary.

Coordinate and oversee funeral services to ensure everything runs smoothly and according to the family's wishes.

Prepare and file necessary paperwork, such as death certificates, permits and update the file into the funeral home software.

Conduct pre-arrangement consultations with individuals interested in planning their own funerals in advance.

Comply with all relevant laws and regulations pertaining to the funeral industry.

Maintain funeral home facilities and vehicles as required.

Perform other sundry tasks or special projects as assigned.

**Requirements and Experience**:
Valid Funeral Director - Class 1 Licence.

Valid G class driver’s license, without any restrictions and a clean driver’s abstract.

Be willing to complete Standard First Aid CPR-C & AED training to satisfy Co. H&S policies.

Excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills.

Professional demeanour.

Keen eye for detail and ability to multitask.

Working knowledge of Mac OS, Windows and MS Office.

Previous experience as a Funeral Director or in a related field is preferred.

Note: This position may require heavy lifting at times.

Flexible Language Requirement: - French not required
- Schedule:_ - M-F 9am-5pm in office except on day off during the week

On call every other weekend - working if necessary.

Working evening visitations when necessary per schedule.

Working public holidays when required per schedule.

Pay: $37,376.27-$77,914.32 per year
