**Job Title**:Clinical Counsellor (ANConnect program)**

**Location**: St. John’s, NL

The ANC is seeking a **Clinical Counsellor** to provide clinical counseling services through **ANConnect**, a program ofANCthat offers culturally appropriate, low-barrier, online and telephone mental health counseling to adults who self-identify as immigrants and refugees in the province of NL.
- **Roles and Responsibilities**_
- Deliver a virtual/in-person counseling model in response to the mental health needs of immigrant and refugee populations;
- Facilitate some clients’ groups and organization engagement activities;
- Coordinate a regular informal walk and talk activity;
- Educate and train ANC staff on the counseling model;
- Develop and deliver presentations and associated materials to increase awareness of ANConnect;
- Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the delivery and effectiveness of client services;
- Maintain accurate documentation as defined by stakeholder agreement; and
- Provide all required reports in a timely manner.
- **Qualifications and Experience**_
- Social Science Counsellor or Psychologist with accompanying Masters’s degree or diploma.
- Strong clinical skills working with clients that may have experienced complex medical and psychosocial issues, violence, trauma, mental health, and addictions;
- Minimum 3 years of in-depth clinical counseling experience;
- Skilled in crisis intervention and conflict resolution;
- Possess cultural awareness and sensitivity working with a diverse client group;
- The ability to prioritize referrals and multi-task;
- Effective prioritization and time management skills;
- Knowledge of virtual counseling documentation and confidentiality practices;
- Competency in case file management;
- Ability to work on tight deadlines, prioritize and multi-task;
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate with team members and community partners;
- Strong written, oral and interpersonal communication skills; and
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Delivery of mental health supports to diverse populations (an asset); and
- Understanding the principles of cultural humility and Gender-Based Analysis Plus (an asset).
- **Conditions of Employment**_
- In good standing with NL College of Social Workers, NL Psychology Board, or a Canadian counselling association;
- Flexible to work outside of standard core hours (Monday-Friday, 9am -5pm)
- Valid class 5 driver’s licence and access to a reliable vehicle is required
- Some travel is required
