Cafe Coordinator

The Root Cellar Food and Wellness Hub (Formerly the Medicine Hat & District Food Bank) believes that hunger exists in the community and that the community has a responsibility to address this food insecurity in a manner ensuring the availability, accessibility and adequacy of food. All people seeking our help deserve the highest quality foods that are possible for us to provide. We have found that the best way to meet hunger needs is in collaboration with others who share our common purpose. That is why we have re-branded as the Root Cellar Food & Wellness Hub to be able to collaborate with numerous other agencies and organizations in our community to achieve this.

**Qualifications**
- Kitchen and cooking experience
- Outgoing and friendly nature
- Strong communication, customer service, de-escalation, and interpersonal skills with the ability to work with a variety of people
- Experience with a Point-of-Sale system
- Experience managing cash
- Can work independently
- Physically fit to be on your feet all day, and lifting 50+lbs
- Clean Police Information Check

**Responsibilities**
- Provide support to the Programs Coordinator for Brown Bag Lunch including preparing hot meals, sandwiches, and baking
- Kitchen cleanliness and upkeep
- Lobby Café space cleanliness and upkeep including dishes, tables, and floors
- Keep an organized, clean, and Food Safe space at all times
- Prepare food, provide counter service, and complete point of sale or cash transactions for Café
- Keeping Inventory and coordinate ordering with Programs Coordinator
- Working with the Marketing team to market the Café

**Job Types**: Part-time, Fixed term contract

**Salary**: $17.00-$19.00 per hour
