Clinical Assistant

Are you passionate about Healthcare and want to be part of an experienced Medical team? Athol Murray College of Notre Dame is looking to add a Clinical Assistant to support our healthcare team.
- This is a Full-Time permanent position reporting to the Nurse Manager. Clinical Assistants are responsible for supporting the healthcare department meet the day-to-day health and well-being needs of our students.
- HOURS OF WORK: shift work; only be available during the school year. (Sept - June)
- Duties & Responsibilities:

- Tending to injuries and referring to medical staff
- Record patient history and personal information
- Measure vital signs, such as blood pressure
- Help with patient examinations
- Give patients medications as directed by Health care staff
- Schedule patient appointments
- Assist with treatments
- Enter patient information into medical records
- Provide emergency treatment and first aid
- Mental Health 1st aid
- Qualifications & Requirements:

- 1. 3-5 years of Demonstrated experience in injury assessment
- 2. Broad knowledge and understanding of injuries, disease, nutrition and any conditions that may affect ones ability to perform exercise
- 3. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adjust to changes in schedules
- 4. Exceptional organization and the ability to meet shifting demands
- 5. Must be physically able to perform duties, must be able to work with minimum supervision, and supervise others.
- 6. Excellent communication skills are required including an aptitude for technology and computer literacy.
- 7. Strong assessment skills.
- 8. Ability to work non-standard work week, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays
- 9. Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Certification
- 10. Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Certification
- 11. Registered Massage Therapy is an asset
- 12. Possess a keen interest in and knowledge of adolescent health issues and health education
- 13. Must be able to work within Canada and possess a valid Social Insurance Number
