The Public Guardian and Trustee (PGT) is here to help citizens who may be incapable, are under the age of 19 or who are deceased.

The Public Guardian and Trustee (PGT) has the mandate to:

- Protect the legal and financial interests of children under the age of 19 years
- Protect the legal, financial, personal and health care interests of adults who need help with decision-making
- Administer estates of deceased persons and missing persons

The PGT is a corporation sole which is a legal structure with one person responsible for overall service delivery instead of a board of directors. That person is called the Public Guardian and Trustee. The PGT is independent of government when making decisions on behalf of clients. Reporting to the Senior Security Analyst, to govern and implement security services, analysis, asset protection, and electronic messaging for the PGT. Support the development of encrypted and/or restricted views to reduce exposure to personal information within data sets. Diagnose and resolve escalated security issues and conduct investigations.

**Job Requirements**:

- Bachelor’s degree in a computer science related field and 1 year of related experience; OR
- Diploma in a computer science related field and 2 years related experience; OR
- Systems Certificate or coursework leading to a designation as a Certified Information Security Professional and 3 years related experience; OR
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Related experience includes the following:

- Experience working with security related technologies including SIEM, EDR, network security appliances (firewalls, IPS, routers, etc.), Vulnerability management solutions and knowledge of identity access management

**KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES**:

- Knowledge of IT security best practices and risk management methodologies.
- Knowledge of common phishing techniques and the ability to recognize indicators of malicious communications
- Ability to clearly communicate findings and educate others on how to identify and avoid phishing attacks
- Understanding of threat and risk assessment processes
- Knowledge of incident response tools and defense techniques within a Microsoft environment.
- Understanding of identity access management within Microsoft Active Directory and EntraID environment.
- Knowledge of network protocols, firewall configurations, intrusion detection/prevention systems, VPN technologies, and the ability to identify network-based threats.
