**Job Description**:
Z-Modular, a division of Zekelman Industries, seeks a Buyer for our location in Kitchener, ON. Reporting to the Purchasing Manager, and dotted Line to the Supply Chain Director. This person will be responsible for all Procurement related activities.

**RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Work directly with Plant Operations to generate and convert purchase requisitions to purchase orders
- Issue purchase orders to suppliers
- Manage the daily purchasing requirements and assist in ongoing cost savings initiatives
- Identify cost of production vs. the originally planned Bill of Materials.
- Negotiate with external vendors on small
- and large-scale short
- and long-term contracts
- Evaluate vendors on quality, service, cost and delivery for best value initiatives; perform regular audits on preferred vendors
- Work with accounts payable to resolve invoice issues
- Other duties as assigned

**EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE**:

- Minimum of an Associate’s Degree with emphasis in Business/Purchasing or Marketing
- 3-5 years of experience in purchasing, planning, or similar role

**REQUIREMENTS**:

- SAP experience preferred but not required
- Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of staff
- Strong interpersonal and influence skills
- Ability to take initiative, work independently and follow through on projects
- Top-notch communications skills, both verbal and written.
- Must be a Team Player and have a Tough-minded leadership strength for this role.
- Regular, full-time, predictable onsite attendance per the posted schedule is an essential function of this role.
- Lead and promote health and safety work practices as required by regulatory agencies and company policy
