**Your Opportunity**:
Endoscopy is a fast-paced and busy work environment requiring the continuous transfer and pushing of patients. As a Service Worker (SW), you will work with the multidisciplinary team to assist in providing quality service to patients, families, communities and populations, while taking necessary steps to ensure their safety and well-being. In your role, you will provide support within the Endoscopy department throughout all areas; pre-procedure, theatre and recovery. Primary responsibilities include; patient transportation, cleaning, setup, restocking of supplies and linens, safe handling of blood products and specimens. Under supervision, the Service Worker performs a variety of duties including (but not limited to): distribution and stocking of supplies and equipment within the nursing unit in accordance with established work methods and procedures. Responsibilities include: equipment cleaning, patient portering, supply/linen management. The Endoscopy program maintains the expectation that all employees come to work with a positive attitude to help foster a team that shows pride, compassion, and respect.
**Description**:
As a Service Worker I, you will be responsible for transporting patients (clients/residents) and equipment to and from different patient care areas within a hospital site. You will distribute and replenish hospital supplies throughout the units and clean equipment and patient care areas as directed. You may also transport lab specimens, blood and blood products, and patient charts. You will report any concerns regarding supplies and safety issues to Unit Managers and perform other duties as required.

**Required Qualifications**:
Grade 12 or equivalent.
**Additional Required Qualifications**:
Current Heart & Stroke Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP). Connect Care experience. Service worker experience. Acute care experience within the past 2 years. Self-motivated and ability to prioritize and organize workload in a busy patient care environment. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Strong oral and written communication. Physical capability of performing all aspects of the role (bending, reaching, crouching, kneeling, overhead lifting, pushing and pulling). Demonstrated ability to walk and/or stand for long periods of time and lift 22.5 kg or assist in lifting up to 157.5 kg on a regular basis. Must possess verbal, numerical and clerical abilities; visual and auditory acuity; motor coordination; eye-hand coordination. Reliable, cooperative and proven ability to demonstrate effective service attitude; must be able to accept supervision and follow instructions.
