The **HR Specialist - People & Culture** will play a pivotal role in nurturing a positive workplace environment while efficiently executing several HR functions. This position owns employee relations and HR administration and demonstrates exceptional communication and organizational skills. They are responsible for day to day employee relations, overseeing various HR systems, supporting recruitment initiatives, and fostering a culture of inclusivity and engagement within the organization.

**KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY**
- Prepare and manage letters, memos, and contracts related to employee changes. Maintaining meticulous tracking of all employee-related documentation.
- Own and optimize the HR Information System (HRIS), Officevibe (culture tool), and other HR systems to ensure accuracy and efficiency in data management.
- Provide support and training to employees on HR systems as needed.
- Handle diverse administrative tasks to ensure smooth operations within the HR department.
- Assist in maintaining a structured and organized filing system for HR-related documents. Ensure the proper flow and handoff of information within the HR team.
- Support the performance review process by facilitating documentation, scheduling, and coordination between managers and employees.
- Lead the Social Committee meetings and coordinate and organize cultural events, activities, and initiatives to promote a positive and inclusive work culture.
- Manage internal communications related to cultural initiatives and events including the Archmill newsletter.
- Develop and maintain seating plans and organizational charts to reflect current team structures accurately.
- Support with the recruitment, evaluation, and management of trade labor resources as needed.
- Provide backup support for payroll processing to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
- Support with the planning and execution of company-wide events including the annual Kick-Off and quarterly town halls.
- Own employee relations including the mediation and resolution of day-to-day conflicts in accordance with Archmill’s policies and applicable governing legislation. Ensure that high-risk or complex employee issues are reported to the head of HR for investigation/legal input.
- Partner with management to address performance issues and provide coaching. Facilitate Performance Improvement Plans, written warnings and other administrative disciplinary measures.
- Execute low-risk terminations and internal investigations and support high-risk employee relations under the direction of the head of HR.
- Primary point of contact for employee concerns and inquiries, promoting positive employee relations.
- Coordinate lunch and learns and internal training sessions.
- Support the head of HR with projects, research, reporting and other initiatives.
- Assist with other duties as assigned.

**YOUR SKILLS & EXPERIENCE**
- Education in human resources, organizational development, business management or business administration or related fields considered an asset.
- 4+ years of Human Resources experience with a strong focus in employee relations, HR administration, and culture.
- CHRP designation is required.
- Proficiency in HRIS, MS Office Suite, and other HR-related software.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
- Team player with the ability to take ownership of all projects involved.
- Thorough working knowledge of relevant employment legislation including the Employment Standards Act.
- Exceptional attention to detail and strong administrative capabilities
- High emotional intelligence and commitment to professionalism
