8:30am-4:30pm
4:30pm-12:30am
12:30am-8:30am
Weekend Shifts are consistent and are from 8:30am-4:30pm
- The Vancouver Home is looking for a _**_part-time relief Caseworker. _**_This position works _**_Saturdays and Sundays from 8:30am-4:30pm _**_and in addition, would be available for _**_relief work _**_during the week._

**_ Please Note: The Vancouver Home is a 24/7 Transitional Home, it is funded by BC Housing and must adhere to their salary ranges._**

**What is Nisa Homes?**

Working from a holistic, culturally, and religiously responsive approach, Nisa Homes provides residents with a safe transitional shelter for healing. Our staff provide assistance with the goal of helping residents attain long-term independence and self-sufficiency

**What you’ll do**:
Provide crisis intervention and emotional support to clients; assist clients to assess their situation, provide information and referral to appropriate community resources with a trauma-informed and survivor-centered approach, prioritizing the safety and well-being of the clients.
-Conduct assessment, intake and assume case management responsibilities.
-For clients who need to leave their homes, assist by giving them access to our home.
-Complete risk assessments and assist in developing safety planning for the client. If children are involved, help clients address the needs and safety concerns of their children.
-Input client information into database, document accurate records of abuse and maintain up-to-date records of service delivery and client case files.
-Track and compile monthly KPI reports.
-Advocate on behalf of the client within the legal system, helping them navigate the complex process of obtaining protection, seeking legal assistance, and/or other specific needs of the case.
-Provide emotional support, validation, and a safe space for clients to express their feelings and fears.
-Help clients regain their sense of self-worth and self-esteem by connecting them with relevant skill-building resources and leading life-skills sessions within the home.
-Participate in staff and team meetings, and professional development opportunities as required.

**What we're looking for**Degree or Diploma in a related human/social service field such as Social work or Social service work OR Child and Youth Care Work and one (1) year of recent related experience. Or an equivalent combination of relevant training, education, and experience.
-Social perception to work with individuals who have difficulty expressing their needs.
-Demonstrated skills in case management, assessment, and intervention, writing case notes, advocacy, conflict resolution techniques, mediation, de-escalation skills and non-violent crisis management.
-Knowledge of crisis-intervention methodologies.
-Ability to compromise, negotiate, and work well with others.
-Current First Aid/CPR Certificate is an asset.
-Access to a reliable vehicle is an asset.
