**Position Overview**:
Under the general supervision of the PRINCIPAL INVESTIGATOR(S), and while demonstrating a commitment to the Mission, Values and Management Philosophy of St. Boniface General Hospital, the LABORATORY ASSISTANT - GLASS WASHER is responsible for: collecting and cleaning all laboratory glassware and reusable items by hand or by using the automatic glassware washer and then returning items to the appropriate laboratory area; collecting, sterilizing and packaging all biohazardous laboratory wastes for disposal; monitoring the proper functioning of the autoclaves, dishwasher and other equipment; maintaining daily or weekly logs reporting problems or requesting service, as appropriate; and other related duties as assigned.

**Experience**:

- Previous experience working in a research related field is an asset.

**_Note:_** _An equivalent combination of education and experience, as deemed recognized by the Employer, may be considered in lieu of the above._

**Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)**:

- Grade XII diploma.
