Eye Physicians and Surgeons, Dr. H Strungaru & Associates is currently looking for a part-time with opportunity to become a full-time Ophthalmic technician.

Dr. Strungaru is looking for someone who will provide excellent patient care, enthusiastic, hard-working, **with very flexible working hours,** including **evening shifts, **following instructions, patience, helpful in the clinic with other chores, fast learner, strong ethics, interpersonal skills, and working well with Dr. Strungaru.

Dr. Strungaru is a comprehensive ophthalmologist who sees adults and children. She is dealing with medical and surgical diseases of the eye such as cataracts, glaucoma, pediatric and adult strabismus, as well as corneal and retinal diseases. Dr. Strungaru is committed to enhancing the patient’s quality of life through better vision.

Main responsibilities of a Technician, but not limited:

- Accurately performing patient screening/ testing: Taking medical history, Checking visual acuity, Pupil assessment, Color vision, Measuring intraocular pressure with Goldmann applanation, Administering eye drops
- Preparing patients for procedures like minor procedure, or laser
- Accurately performing diagnostic testing: Performing Humphrey visual field tests, Obtaining Optical Coherent Tomography (OCT) images, Anterior segment OCT, Corneal topography, IOL master
- Efficiently and accurately documenting all pertinent information in patient records (EMR)
- Maintaining, calibrating, and cleaning all equipment used throughout the day
- Maintaining clinic inventory and equipment by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed supplies; placing and expediting orders for supplies; verifying receipt of supplies; scheduling equipment service and repairs.
- Calculating intraocular lens powers.

**Qualifications**:

- Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent.
- Preferred: Ophthalmic Assistant course from an accredited institution and certification as an Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) from the Joint Commission of Allied Health Personnel in Ophthalmology (JCAHPO)
- Minimum of one year experience as an Ophthalmic Assistant is preferred.

**Skills**:

- Excellent patient service skills with an aptitude to understand the patient’s conditions
- Strong computer skills, with previous EMR experience
- Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new programs and equipment
- Present a cheerful, friendly, and professional image to patients, other employees, and physicians
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent listening skills and following instructions
- Professional and self-motivated with a strong work ethic
- Ability to multitask and work with accuracy and efficiency

**Job Types**:full-time

**Salary**: $18.00-$25.00 per hour or higher if you have Jcahpo and experience.

COVID-19 considerations:
All patients are required to wear masks and sign COVID-19 forms, patients are required to wait in cars if minimum chairs in the clinic are occupied. All surfaces cleaned regularly during the clinic.
