Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced Collections Paralegal to join our team and work within our busy litigation practice. As a growing and dynamic firm, we are interested in hearing from qualified applicants like you who are interested in joining our friendly and collaborative Regina office.
**Responsibilities include**:
Managing and calendaring a large number of Collection deadlines
Drafting legal correspondence and documents
Filing documents with the Court
Mailing form letters to customers to encourage payment of delinquent accounts
Conferring with debtors by telephone in attempt to determine reason for overdue payment, reviewing terms of sales, service, or credit contract with client
Assembling information for cases in which legal action is indicated
Creating and completing Precedents
Corresponding with clients
Taking payments from debtors and posting same to the client
Making settlement with debtors
Communicating effectively verbally and in writing
Handling other duties as assigned
**Qualifications include**:
Minimum of five years of legal experience, preferably in litigation or collections work
Must be proficient with Word processing and spreadsheet software
Access and the ability to use online resources such as Collect Link, Techcom and Litigation Highway
A Commissioner of Oaths is preferred but not required
Strong interpersonal skills and excited to work in a dynamic, team-based environment
