Forestry Technician

Allumette Forestry Inc. is based in the Ottawa Valley and is involved in all aspects of forestry, including silviculture, planning, operations and management. With a variety of services offered, employees will have the opportunity to experience different roles and grow within the company.

Position Overview:
Allumette Forestry Inc. is in search of a forestry technician or general forestry worker to perform tree marking, silviculture surveys and manual tending (brushsaw) operations. Other duties required of this position will include tree planting and general forest technician tasks. Previous experience in silviculture, tree marking, tree planting or other forestry experience is preferred but not necessary.

Working locations will be focused in Eastern Ontario and Western Quebec, with the central location being Pembroke, Ontario. Remote camp work will be required. Training will be provided.

Qualifications:

- Knowledge of tree species identification
- Ability to navigate difficult terrain in all forms of weather
- College Diploma in Forestry (completed or currently enrolled) or related field. Applicants without a college diploma will also be considered.
- Other related experience such as tree planting or logging
- Driver’s license (G or equivalent)
- Tree Marker Certificate (optional)
- Pesticide Applicator License (optional)
- Professional Chainsaw Operator License (optional)
