**OVERVIEW**:
The **Buyer **sources and procures products and services to meet deadlines and at competitive prices.

**JOB SUMMARY**:

- Develop and improve supplier quality, cost, and delivery performance
- Issue PO’s for material, expedite and follow-up on orders
- Investigate and resolve vendor complaints
- Maintain and improve raw material inventories
- Negotiate contracts and long-term agreements
- Maintain daily, weekly and monthly inventory reports
- Execution of negotiated contract and minor capital equipment purchases through SAP/ MRP (Material Resource Planning) systems.
- Develop and implement category sourcing strategies
- Analyze market conditions (ex: pricing, availability, lead-time and capacity)
- Support new product introduction activities
- Undertake cost analysis for direct material and services
- Support product safety requirements as outlined in the Management System

***REQUIRMENTS**:

- University Degree or College Diploma
- 5+ years of relevant work experience in a procurement or supply chain role
- Procurement/Supply Chain accreditation: SCMP, MCIPS or ISM would be an asset
- Demonstrated organizational and time management skills
- Buying in a manufacturing environment
- Strong sense of urgency to complete tasks
- Strong analytical skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- High attention to detail
- Previous exposure to market analytics and insights
- Excellent Microsoft Office Suite skills
- Clean and current driver’s license
