**REPORTS TO**: Research Manager, Neurodevelopmental Health

**CHEO RI has an immediate requirement for a Grants Writer Specialist.**

The Grants Writer Specialist will facilitate research grant submissions in the division of Neurodevelopmental Health.

**RESPONSIBILITIES**

Under the general supervision of the Manager in Neurodevelopmental Health, the Grants Writer Specialist will:

- Conduct comprehensive research to identify potential grant opportunities aligned with the department’s mission, projects and research interests.
- Stay updated on funding trends, guidelines, and eligibility criteria from various government agencies, foundations, and private donors.
- Customize proposals to meet the specific requirements and priorities of different funding sources.
- Coordinate with relevant stakeholders to ensure alignment between proposed projects and funder priorities.
- Work closely with the finance department to develop accurate and realistic budgets for grant proposals.
- Ensure that proposed budgets align with the funder's guidelines and requirements.
- Manage the timely submission of grant proposals, ensuring that all required documentation and attachments are included.

**QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND ABILITIES**
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Science, Health Science, English, Communications) (Essential)
- Minimum 2 years grant writing experience (Essential)
- Proven experience in grant writing, with a track record of successfully securing funding. (Essential)
- Knowledge of neurodevelopmental health research (preferred)
- Excellent computer skills, including advanced knowledge of research related software (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, literature search engines, Reference Manager or equivalent) (Essential)
- Outstanding organizational, accountability and time management skills (Essential)
- Ability to work independently with mínimal supervision and think critically (Essential)
- Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment (Essential)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills (Essential)
- Excellent inter-personnel skills (Essential)

**WORKING CONDITIONS**
- Flexibility to work either fully remote or in a hybrid work model that would include both remote work and on-site work.

**OTHER REQUIREMENTS**
- Eligible to work in Canada;
- Compliance with CHEO RI’s Universal COVID-19 Vaccination Policy; and
- Police Record Check.
