**Primary Roles & Responsibilities**
- Ensure the impound lot is kept clean, reflecting high standards of tidiness and order.
- Secure the lot thoroughly, inspecting and reinforcing the fencing perimeter to cover any potential entry points, safeguarding against unauthorized access.
- Seasonal Landscaping includes snow removal, lawn maintenance and driveway maintenance across all locations.
- Adjust work hours on days with bad weather conditions, which may include arriving early to clear walkways and perform other necessary tasks to ensure safety and accessibility of across our location.
- Identify sections of the lot that require plowing and ensure timely clearing.
- Identify and fill any potholes or gaps to facilitate smooth access for trucks and cars.
- Remove weeds and grass to maintain a neat and organized appearance around and within the lot.
- Regularly collect garbage throughout the office premises to uphold cleanliness.
- Conduct weekly visits to our downtown location for garbage collection, ensuring cleanliness standards are met.
- Travel to collect uniforms and repair parts, office supplies, cleaning supplies as directed by management.
- Manage the parking of all vehicles in their designated spots, ensuring order and accessibility. Ensure the same information is being accurately displayed on our system. Maintain proper vehicle arrangement in designated rows, re-arranging as instructed by the Director of Operations and the Fleet Manager
- Work in collaboration with the Director of Operations and relocate vehicles from the lot to designated spots in preparation for auctions.
- Collaborate with the Director of Operations and the fleet manager to transport vehicles to scrapping locations efficiently. By assisting in towing vehicles to the scrap yard when the impound lot reaches capacity, managing space efficiently.
- Work with the Fleet Manager and Matt Cruz to prepare cars for donation to the fire department by draining fluids as necessary.
- Retrieve truck repair parts following instructions from the fleet manager, ensuring maintenance needs are met based on the company's vehicle repair schedule.
- Facilitate the transportation of vehicles to and from repair shops according to the maintenance schedule, in collaboration with the fleet manager.
- Monitor compliance with road safety and towing procedures, reporting any deviations to management and the fleet manager by any driver.
- Assist the fleet manager in conducting road tests with drivers, ensuring competency and compliance.
- Undertake repairs on truck equipment and assist the drivers with repairs for their trucks
- Conduct minor repair work at both business locations, maintaining operational standards.
- Perform regular maintenance checks on all equipment and vehicles to confirm adherence to road safety standards, reporting any issues.
- Ensure all vehicles are safe to be on road and operational under all weather conditions, enhancing reliability and safety.
- Collect and dispose of yard debris, including vehicle parts and garbage, to prevent potential damage.
- Secure open windows on newer vehicles to prevent water damage, preserving asset quality.
- Shuttle trucks to and from service locations for repairs and preventive maintenance, ensuring vehicle reliability.
- Conduct daily inspections of the yard's perimeter fencing and monitor vehicle conditions to prevent unauthorized access and maintain vehicle security.
- Any other tasks as assigned.

**Required Education/Training**

High school diploma or general education degree (GED)

Demonstrated previous industrial/warehouse/yard person skills.

Basic experience and understanding of computer systems.

Effective verbal & written communication skills

Valid G drivers license.

Knowledge of electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical systems

Creative problem solver with ability to troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues.

A kind human being.

**Evaluation Process**

Employment at JP Towing Service & Storage Ltd is based on passing the following conditions:

- Valid Tow Certificate
- Pass a Police Record Check.
- Reference Checks.
- Valid Driver's License.
- Satisfactory Driver's Abstract.
- Eligibility to work In Canada.
