Escape the stress of city traffic and join the engaging, committed team in Sturgeon Public School Division. We are currently recruiting for a Payroll Specialist at Central Office located in Morinville, just minutes north of St. Albert.

Reporting to the Senior Payroll Coordinator, the Payroll Specialist is responsible for coordinating resources and providing accurate processing of payroll and benefits. This role contributes to all day-to-day payroll and benefits functions to ensure an effective and responsive service delivery.

**FTE**: 1.0 FTE; 35 hrs/week; 7 hrs/day; 12 months per year; Full-Time Permanent

**Responsibilities**:
**Duties include but not limited to**:
Accurate and timely processing of monthly payroll, pension, union, and other benefits

Ensure staff documentation is accurately completed and distributed within deadlines

Reconcile monthly benefit premiums

Calculate and balance monthly Source Deductions for remittance

Process Record of Employment and Pension declarations

Assist with yearend processes including T4 preparation, Teachers’ Retirement Fund, Local Authority Pension Plan and other reports

Assist with financial audits

Reporting to departments as requested

Qualifications and Attributes

Payroll Compliance Practitioner certification

Minimum three years’ direct experience in Payroll Administration

Knowledge of collective agreements policies and procedures

Working knowledge of pension or RRSP administration

Excellent customer service, interpersonal, communication (both written and verbal)

Intermediate to advanced Microsoft 365 (Excel, Outlook, Word) and Google Suite

Accurate data entry with excellent analytical, problem solving and technical skills

Ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting timelines and maintaining confidentiality

Work effectively with limited supervision as a member of a team

**Pay Range**: $50,000.00 - $60,193.20 annual salary. Benefits and Pension as per the General Employment Conditions.
