Kalesnikoff has an opportunity for a focused and detail-oriented **Financial Analyst**with strong interpersonal skills to join our team at our sawmill office between Nelson and Castlegar, BC. Reporting to the CFO, the Financial Analyst will be responsible for providing analysis, financial/cost accounting and reporting while identifying areas for improvement.

**Responsibilities**:

- Monitoring and analyzing budget variances
- Cost analysis and reporting
- Review, analyze and report on inventory valuation, raw materials, WIP, direct and indirect labor, overhead costs, and related variances.
- Ensure proper financial controls are in place to minimize risk
- Responsible for any ad-hoc reports including the tracking of key trends on a daily, weekly, or monthly basis, and capital spending initiatives.
- Assist in the ongoing development, data accumulation and reporting of Key Performance Indicators required for decision making and achieving the Company’s Strategic Goals.
- Assist in preparation of month end reporting and quarterly reporting
- Analyze various P&L line items to identify associated impact of short-term and long-term goals of the site and organization
- Supporting the annual operating budget and capital budget and financial forecasting process
- Support year-end audit and reporting
- Preparing, analyzing, and summarizing a wide variety of financial information.
- Assisting departments in administering their financial planning, budget and forecasting activities.
- Identify opportunities to enhance margins and improve working capital
- Ensure compliance with relevant policies and procedures.

**Qualifications**:

- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance or Commerce
- Minimum 2 years of work experience in finance, ideally with a manufacturing background
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
- A professional accounting designation (e.g., CPA) is preferred
- Strong financial data analysis skills
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and relevant accounting software
- Experience working within an ERP System considered an asset
- Ability to provide financial advice and guidance to non-financial departments or teams
- Ability to work effectively and efficiently in a team environment
