**Position: Corrosion Technicians (2 full-time, permanent positions)**

**Job Location: Markham, Ontario,**

**GENERAL FUNCTION**:
The Corrosion Technician will participate in the field inspection, installation, construction, overline surveys, service, repair, and troubleshooting of corrosion protection systems.

Examples of field activities are:

- Cathodic protection surveys
- Indirect inspection / overline surveys
- Construction projects
- Corrosion inhibitor casing projects
- Installation of various corrosion protection equipment
- Anode ground bed refurbishment installations
- Rectifier troubleshooting and repairs

**RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Assignments must be completed efficiently and professionally.
- Data submission is required daily after field activities.
- Field timelines and schedules are determined by the Project Coordinator / Team Leads. Project progress and ‘on-the-fly’ field scheduling will be determined by the field lead.
- With gained experience, field personnel are expected to develop a sense of initiative and autonomy with typical workflow.
- Streamline and ‘fit in’ with project work and ‘fill in the gaps’ where required. When working within a team, team autonomy is the ultimate goal where everyone involved is familiar with the scope of work and tasks to be completed.
- Field duties shall be communicated to the Team Lead throughout the duration and upon completion.
- Survey data shall be submitted upon completion of field work for review.
- Written procedures shall be reviewed prior to starting the survey and followed during the survey.

**QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Applicants should be university or college graduates from an electrical/electronics engineering or technology program.
- Prior work experience in a field support type role would be an asset.
- Individuals with NACE CP Certification would be preferred.
- Must be physically fit, willing to routinely work outdoors, and able to lift 50lbs on a regular basis.
- General understanding of electrical circuits and theory.
- Good initiative, adaptable, flexible, and team player.
- Technical (electrical) background, good problem-solving skills.
- Any cathodic protection background will be an asset.
- Experience in the oil and gas pipeline industry.
