We are currently looking to add a hardworking, enthusiastic Carpenter, to our Team. The Carpenter is responsible for constructing, erecting, installing, maintaining, and repairing structures and components of structures made of wood and wood substitutes. Additionally, the Carpenter ensures the construction and maintenance of strong and long-lasting structures based off architectural blueprints.

**Principle Duties & Responsibilities**

Include but are not limited to:

- Ensuring the accuracy of construction by reading and interpreting blueprints, drawings, and sketches to determine specifications and calculate requirements.
- Contributing to construction plans by building foundations, installing floor beams, laying sub-flooring, and installing walls and roofing systems.
- Completing finishing carpentry activities by fitting and installing trim, doors, stairs, molding, and hardware.
- Ensuring accurate measurements by confirming cuts, and joining materials made of wood or wood substitutes.
- Supporting crew by building scaffolding and other construction structures, as required.
- Ensuring layouts are in conformance with building codes by utilizing measuring tools.
- Ensuring quality of the final product by maintaining communication with the crew.
- Aiding in crew efficiencies by ensuring the site is clean and organized at the start and end of each shift.
- Maintaining good working order of equipment by keeping equipment clean and free of debris and other hazards.
- Completing operational requirements by assigning tasks to direct reports and following up on work results.
- Leading and managing human resources initiatives and activities for direct reports including coaching, recruitment, on-boarding, performance management, employee development, employee recognition and general support.
- Enhancing productivity by providing suggestions to refine workflow and boost efficiency.
- Preparing and maintaining the Health & Safety on construction sites by;
- Maintaining awareness of surroundings
- Observing stipulated safety codes at all times
- Reporting injuries and other accidents to Foreman
- Supporting administration by completing required paperwork, and other documentation as required.

**Knowledge & Skills Required**

Include but are not limited to:

- Journeyman Carpenter ticket is required, Red Seal Endorsement is preferred.
- A minimum of 4-years previous experience performing carpentry in the construction industry.
- Basic understanding of construction principles and procedures.
- Previous commercial and/or institutional construction experience.
- Required tickets include; First Aid Level C. Zoom boom, skid steer, Fall Protection, Aerial Work Platforms, and other valid tickets are an asset.
- Must have a valid and clean Driver’s license and be willing to travel to various sites.
- Demonstrated ability to read technical documents and drawings is required.
- Extensive knowledge of carpentry techniques and methods of installation and construction is required.
- Proficiency using electrical and manual equipment and measurement tools is required.
- Demonstrated manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
- Ability to work in all weather conditions.
- Demonstrated effective communication skills, including oral, written and presentation abilities, as well as networking and relationship building skills.
- Demonstrated ability to take initiative and work independently to complete assigned tasks.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively manage time and prioritize tasks.
- Demonstrated desire to be a lifelong learner.
- A strong service orientation, with a focus on making Aman Builders a respected and reputable construction company.
- Strong “team” orientation, with demonstrated group process skills; this includes participation in high level planning and group involvement processes.
- Demonstrated ability to be respectful of diversity.
- Demonstrated knowledge of safety guidelines and the ability to instill a strong safety culture.
- Ability to work extended hours as required.
