Here at Cypress Dental, we like to provide our patients with a stress free and enjoyable dental experience. Ultimately together, our goal is to change the way patients feel about coming to the dentists. We’re looking for a full-time dental receptionist who can make our patients feel comfortable, heard, and welcomed from the minute they enter, leave, and contact the office. We require someone who is a **team player**, has a **positive attitude,** able to **multi-task**, is **self-motivated** and always willing to **continue to learn and grow** We value working as a team, supporting each other, and constantly trying to make our office better. We want to provide our patients with a lifelong lasting impression and deliver great dental care.

Our clinic is in Kitsilano and has been open for over 3 years. To allow us to cater to all types of patients we are open on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 8:30 am until 8:00 pm and Thursdays to Saturdays from 8:30 am until 5:30 pm.

**Responsibilities**:

- Greet and welcome patients in a friendly and professional manner. Collect and verify patient information and insurance details. Maintain patient records and ensure accurate data entry.
- Booking, rescheduling, and confirming appointments. Maintain the offices schedule efficiently and assisting the patients to complete necessary forms and documentation. Ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
- Checking in, checking out/processing insurance claims, collecting payments from patients, and ensuring accurate billing. Process and file insurance claims and verify coverage. Manage patient billing and insurance claims.
- Assist with other administrative tasks as assigned by the manager to meet the needs of the business in an efficient manner
- Maintaining the safety of the workplace by contributing to the upkeep of cleanliness and organization of reception area and staff area.
- Ability to submit predeterminations and follow up with patients on these predeterminations. Be comfortable discussing proposed treatment and fees associated with treatment as well as confident booking recall and hygiene appointments. (Preferred but can be taught)

**Requirements or Education and Experience**:
Dental receptionist certificate and/or 1 year + of dental receptionist experience is preferred.

**CLEARDENT** knowledge is preferred.

**Job type/Schedule**:
8 hours, Full time; 4-5 days per week (may including 1 or possibly 2 evening shifts, as well as Saturdays).
- Evening shift are on Tuesday and Wednesday from 11:00 am until 8:00 pm and Saturdays are 8:30 am until 5:30 pm.

**Salary/benefits**:
Up to $30 per hour depending on experience. We offer dental care, on-site staff parking, paid time off, health spendings account after 6 months, and bonus pay. The office is in a transit accessible location and our office believes in a work life balance, so we are closed for a period of time during the summer and winter for holidays

**Expected start date**:
September 5th, 2024, or as soon as possible. Office will be closed starting August 24th and will reopen on September 5th.

**COVID-19 considerations**:
We follow COVID-19 guidelines to maintain safe environment for the team and patients. Currently staff are required to wear masks in the office.

**Work Location**:
In person. Having a reliable commute or plan to relocate before starting work is required.

**Experience**:

- Previous experience working as a dental receptionist is preferred, but NOT REQUIRED
- Familiarity with dental terminology and procedures is a plus
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively
