**Pay Lead Climber**:
$37.00/hr. If everything in the description is met

Full time 40- 60hrs/ week, varies per day.

**Location**: Aurora, On

**POSITION DUTIES**:
**Lead Climber**
- Carries out or assists with the circle check of vehicle prior to leaving the yard
- Discusses and communicates crew roles and responsibilities with job-site priorities.
- Marks work-site for public safety and crew.
- Inspects, identifies any job-site hazards before climbing. Inspects equipment/tools; ensures safety in operations prior to use.
- Independently and proficiently carry's out pruning or removal of trees, ensuring the safety of climber and ground crew. Ascends tree using rope and safety saddle, lifelines. Attaches lines to affected limb or wood, cuts and lowers limb/wood working in conjunction with assigned crew and equipment, i.e. crane, and truck. Chips and cuts fallen trees with in the given timeline.
- Proficient throw ball skills and experience using a Big-Shot throw ball launcher
- Understands cabling/bracing techniques with Extra High Strength cable/ threaded rod and is able to install unsupervised
- Operates 5-ton dump truck, brush chipper, and a variety of power tools.
- Operates a 0-8 ton Crane Truck
- Safely and proficiently ability to back up trailers.
- Ensures all equipment is safely maintained and operated, checks on a daily basis and performs preventive maintenance and minor repairs if requires.
- Performs tree surgery outlined in work orders e.g. pruning, bracing, clearing, stump grinding
- Has 3 years experience operating a spider lift platform and bucket truck
- Assists in tree planting operations, operating trucks and equipment to plant, stake and tie trees.
- Responsible for the visual inspection and cleaning of all tools.
- Able to effectively and articulately to communicate with clients and understand their objectives while adhering to the quoted work
- Able to maintain a positive attitude throughout the day and able to work well with others
- Understands how to be prepared for/and work in any weather conditions as they arise.
- Understands the importance of safe work practices.
- Completes a thorough clean-up.
- Dumps the wood chips at the end of the day.
- Takes pride in their work and strives to do better.
- Performs additional and related duties as assigned.

**MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS**:

- 5+ years of experience with proven tree climbing experience.
- Ability to work as part of a team.
- ISA certified arborist or Ontario Qualified arborist
- Valid non-probationary Ontario class D driver’s license and Z endorsement preferred.
- Clean Driving Record with 2 years experience driving a Commercial Motor Vehicle with a CVOR
- Clean background check
- Ability and experience to driving a standard transmission
- Valid Chainsaw Certificate
- First Aid CPR
- Working At Heights Certificate
- Tree Risk Assessor Qualification an Asset
- 0-8 Ton Crane Operator Certificate

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: $37.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 - 60 per week
