**The Opportunity**

Reporting to the Director, the Manager, IT is responsible for the operational planning, implementation and management of IT systems and resources supporting Siemens business plan for all its divisions in Ontario, Quebec and Vermont. The position holder is also expected to provide leadership to a Systems & Networks Administrator, identify areas of improvement, recommend and lead changes as required and maintain strong relationships between IT services and internal clients. This position is based in Dorval with occasional travelling in Ontario and Vermont.

**Key Responsibilities and Functions**

**Operational Planning and Leadership of IT Services**
- Assess the current information technologies infrastructure and systems in place and identify risks and areas for improvement;
- Participate, in conjunction with the Director, Finance, in the elaboration of the IT’s strategic plan, understanding Siemens organizational objectives and submit recommendations to Senior Management;
- Develop IT budgets and plans to support Siemens current operations and upcoming plans;
- Develop and enforce a customer service and quality culture amongst the IT group;
- In line with the strategic IT plan, define team members’ priorities and goals, and monitor their progress;
- Coordinate the support of Siemens rail traffic control operations in a 24/7/365 environment.

Oversight of IT Operations and Equipment Management**
- Manage the ticket-tracking system (monitoring of incidents and support requests) to ensure the highest level of customer service is provided to internal users;
- Provide support for software or hardware issues that are escalated;
- Oversee the team’s troubleshooting, maintenance, update or development activities in regards to networking and systems;
- Oversee and identify hardware needs, licensing requirements and disaster recovery plans;
- Develop and maintain schedules for various upgrades (software, hardware);
- Ensure that required IT related policies, procedures and documentation are in place, including risk management;
- Take charge of vendor management (negotiate bulk prices, develop profitable relationships with suppliers, etc.) for all IT related purchases, ensuring that cost-efficient and appropriate technologies are purchased;
- Develop, manage and ensure monitoring of Siemens IT equipment inventory (InTune), including but not limited to computers, printers, cell phones to prevent losses and optimize usage.

**IT Project Management**
- Finalize the implementation of Microsoft 365 and InTune;
- Provide expert advice to Senior Management to facilitate and optimize integration of multiple systems (ERP, Issue Management System, HRIS, payroll, VOIP, etc.);
- Ensure that project management and delivery are according to agreed scope, timelines and costs;
- Provide management with regular updates on IT projects and new initiatives;
- Work closely with the Software Development group to ensure the IT infrastructure in place is available and redundant to operate the in-house train dispatching software.**Required Skills and Qualifications**:

- Post-secondary education in network administration;
- 10 years of progressive experience in network administration, IT planning and project management;
- Experience in managing technical staff is preferred;
- Knowledge in programming (PHP, T-Query, Powershell) is an asset;
- Customer service, quality and risk management oriented;
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills (French & English);
- Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to influence business leaders.

- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday
- On call
