Pharmacy Assistant

The current opening is for 24-40 hours per week on a 1 year contract to cover a maternity leave. The position has the possibility of becoming permanent based on the staffing needs and growth of the business after completion of the contract. The preferred start date is July 22/24 however a different start date can be accomodated if required.

**Requirements**:

- Minimum of 1 year experience working in a retail pharmacy preferred.
- Strong computer skills including fast and accurate order entry.
- Experience with Kroll paperless is an asset.
- Previous compounding experience is an asset but not required.
- Strong critical thinking and multi-tasking skills.
- Exceptional customer service skills.
- Must be available to work at least every other Saturday from 9am-4pm (Closed Sundays)

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Processing, interpreting, and performing any required calculations for dropped off prescriptions using the Kroll Paperless Dispensary System.
- Counting, preparing, compounding and checking medications as part of the preparation and verification process.
- Preparing compliance aids and blister packaging.
- Greeting patients and answering and making phone calls to/from patients, doctors offices, suppliers, etc.
- Accepting verbal orders from prescribers (if registered).
- Correctly adjudicating claims to 3rd party insurers
- Operating the cash / POS system as well as maintaining the float and closing/reconciling the tills.
- Answering patients questions and referring them to the pharmacist where appropriate.

Pay: $17.50-$25.00 per hour
