The purchasing position is responsible for ensuring items or services are purchased from specified suppliers and are delivered upon agreed terms and conditions while attaining maximum value for the company. This role will assist with supply chain issues and implement best practices in sourcing alternatives and ensure delivery of materials on time and on cost to meet company objectives.
The coordinator position is responsible for ensuring all materials for field projects have been accounted for on a packing list. Assist as needed for shipping coordination and completion of shipping documents

What You Will Do

Your responsibilities will include, but not be limited to the following:

- Prepare Request for Quotations (RFQs) and transmit them to vendors.
- Enquire with designated supplier for confirmation of system lead time, delivery date and cost.
- Procurement of all engineering specified bill of material items on a project basis.
- Provide client requirements and specifications to vendors.
- Inquire if any product is available in inventory.
- Prepare and send Purchase Orders to the approved vendor with appropriate supporting documents and necessary specifications required to meet the Quality Control Program
- Procurement of field supplies, tools and equipment based on above strategies.
- Track acknowledgement of order by supplier
- Prepare, communicate shortage and backlog reports, provide visibility of potential interruptions to schedule.
- Arrange delivery to site (field tech pick up, hot shot, etc.)
- Tracking and update of open purchase orders from approval through to closure.
- Liase with Project Manager to resolve questions related to design or material supply.
- Assists receiving and accounting staff in resolving receiving and invoice discrepancies.
- Prepare non-BOM purchase orders within system as directed by the Project Manager
- Suggest strategies for the most cost-effective supply of field supplies, tools and equipment.
- Source and obtain quotes for surplus equipment as required.

Education, Skills and Experience

Your education and experience include:

- Certificate Supply Chain Management Professional (SCMP) designation is preferred.
- At least five years purchasing experience in an ERP environment.
- Extensive knowledge of bills of material, price estimating and costing structure
- Strong Computer and ERP skills
- Interpersonal skills including collaboration with others, managing change, and negotiation skills.
