**Job Summary**
The Associate Underwriter, provides general administrative support to the Acera Underwriting Team. The Associate Underwriter is the gatekeeper who ensures all detail is gathered and up to date allowing for outstanding client service.
**Essential Job Functions**
- Provides support to our in-house Commercial Underwriters
- Policy issuance of renewals, new business, cancellations and follow activities
- Data entry activities
- Maintain broker management system, and other relevant systems with client information
- Ensure compliance with underwriting rules, guidelines, and practices
- Other general duties may be assigned, directed, or requested
**Competencies & Qualifications**
- Strong knowledge of different insurance wordings
- Adaptable to working effectively as a team or independently with the ability to adjust to tight and changing deadlines and priorities.
- Ability to maximize efficiencies by leveraging technology, tools resources and information
- Self-guided learner & solves problems with real solutions
- Working knowledge of insurance document management software
- Skilled user of Microsoft office - Outlook, Word and Excel
