Character Artist

Toronto, Canada Alpha Channel Inc. Full time

As a Character artist at Alpha Channel Inc., you’ll be making the wide range of interesting enemies, narrative characters and other inhabitants of our amazing worlds

**Responsibilities Include**:

- Working closely with the Art Director to ensure models meet the required visuals and quality
- Collaborating with the Design and Concept teams to create a diverse cast of characters
- Working closely with the tech art team to ensure character designs rig and deform well in-game and meet technical performance guidelines
- Build clean topology with high consideration for animation

**Qualifications**
- Excellent hard surface modelling and sculpting skills
- Able to interpret concepts and add your own creativity to fill in any blanks
- Superior knowledge of anatomy and posing
- Eye for detail and an ability to create believable characters that are full of life
- Knowledge of high to low poly workflow
- Experience authoring detailed Maya, ZBrush, Fusion, Blender and Substance (or equivalent packages)
- 3+ Year’s of experience

**Nice to have**
- Traditional art background (Painting, drawing, sculpting)
- Knowledge of Unreal Engine 4 or 5
- Basic knowledge of Rigging and animation
- Knowledge of Material creation
- JIRA Experience
