Lcv Driver Trainer

Triple Eight Transport is an asset-based carrier company with terminals in Abbotsford BC, Calgary AB, and Acheson AB. We provide full-truckload transportation services to and from all major cities in Western Canada and the United States

We are currently focusing on developing our LCV operations in Western Canada and require an **LCV Certified Driver Trainer, **or willing to become certified

**Who we are looking for**:
The LCV Driver Trainer is responsible for training new drivers on LCV operations over the road. The Trainer must be Safety minded and a team player, meanwhile ensuring compliance with company policies / procedures and follow all rules and regulations.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Train and develop new employees participating in LCV operations to safely operate company equipment and handle customer freight in compliance with all laws as well as company policies.
- Monitor and document employee progress; primary focus on driving and backing skills, vehicle inspection reports, hazardous material handling, in cab safety technology, trailer connect/disconnect, collision and injury prevention. Identify knowledge and skill gaps; provide additional assistance, as necessary.
- Ensure compliance to company policies and procedures with any and all laws.
- Establish trust and credibility by maintaining a high level of integrity and communications with terminal hiring teams to support operational performance. Align goals with Safety, Operations, Human Resources, Labor.
- Perform over the road driver skills assessments (pre and post hire).
- Assist in driver orientations both in truck and classroom.
- Assist in remedial training.
- Help to implement new programs and ways to improve the program.
- Ensure all road tests are completed to our standards and compliance.
- Determine appropriate instructional methods and Assist in the development of training material.
- Provide support to new and current driver group.
- Additional responsibilities and tasks are required when asked.

**What You Need To Be Successful In This Role**:

- Valid Class 1 License
- Clean abstract and driving history.
- Minimum two (2) years professional driving experience driving LCV.
- At least 1 year as an LCV driver to become an instructor + 150,000 km of driving.
- Comprehensive knowledge of road laws and regulations
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to coach and train others.
- Professional development improvement course (PDIC) valid within 1 year or working towards one.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs manually.
