Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Cook to join our team. As a Cook, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking a variety of dishes in accordance with food safety standards. You will work in a fast-paced kitchen environment, collaborating with other team members to ensure efficient meal preparation and service.

**Responsibilities**:

- Plan menus and estimate food requirements for their realization
- Prepare and cook complete meals or individual dishes and foods
- Prepare dishes for customers with food allergies or intolerances
- Prepare and cook special meals for patients as instructed by dietitian or chef
- Inspect kitchens and food service areas
- Train staff in preparation, cooking and handling of food
- Supervise kitchen staff and helpers
- Maintain inventory and records of food, supplies and equipment
- Clean kitchen and work areas
- Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth operation of the kitchen
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations

**Requirements**:

- Previous experience working in a professional kitchen or food service environment
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices
- Strong understanding of various cooking techniques and methods
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent time management skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team

Preferred Skills:

- Experience in the food industry or restaurant setting
- Formal culinary training or certification

**Education**:

- Secondary or high school graduation certificate or equivalent experience

Note: This is a paid position, as all positions must be compensated.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $17.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30 - 40 per week

Schedule:

- Day shift
- Evening shift
- Holidays
- Morning shift
- Weekends as needed

Supplemental pay types:

- Overtime pay
- Tips

**Experience**:

- Cooking: 1 year (preferred)

**Language**:

- English (preferred)

Licence/Certification:
