Telecommunications Technician

**TELECOMMUNICATIONS TECHNICIAN**

Voicepath Convergence Group Inc is a voice and data company with the head office in Whitby, Ont. Voice path services Nortel, Avaya, Panasonic, Nec, Toshiba and Samsung telecom systems. Voicepath is also a leader in Data cable networking and IT Infrastructure set up. We also install VOIP and Hosted systems. Due to our customer service success for over 20 years, we have the need to add a full time Technician/Operations person to the team, to help deal with increased client orders and installations and work with our support team in the operations Department.

**JOB OVERVIEW**:

- Operating helpdesk and assisting in daily service calls and Installation work in field.
- Meeting commitments to customers in a timely manner and ensuring customer satisfaction.
- Assisting in the installation of all company offered products, including PBX phone systems, voice and data cable installations.
- Professional customer interaction on a daily basis

**QUALIFICATIONS**:

- High school diploma or equivalent and minimum 3 years related experience
- Experience in cable installation and termination and an understanding of basic voice, data and video communications
- PC utilization expertise required
- Working knowledge and familiarity with telecom tools
- A good understanding of local area networking (LAN) and wide area networking (WAN). Hands on experience with routers & switches is required to support site needs.

Capacity to learn multiple new software products

WHIMIS, CSTS, OSSA, H2S Alive, Standard First Aid, Fall Protection, Aerial Platform Training, Confined Space Entry certificates are an asset.

**Additional Requirements/Information**

Possession of a valid Driver’s License, proof of vehicle insurance and the ability to travel to locations throughout the GTA.

Salary commensurate with experience

**Minimum Qualifications**

Possession of a High School Diploma.

Possession of an Associates or higher degree, from an accredited college or university AND/OR equivalent work experience in our field.

Possession of a valid Driver’s License, proof of vehicle insurance and the ability to operate a motor vehicle.

Must be able to travel to and from all locations throughout GTA area where ever technology is placed.

**Salary**: $25.00-$35.00 per hour

Schedule:

- 10 hour shift
- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday
- On call
- Overtime

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Whitby, ON: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

**Experience**:

- telecommunication: 1 year (preferred)
